Crocus bulbs are a great plant for late winter or early spring blooms.  Plant these colorful flowers in fall to get the most from the crocus bulbs.

When to plant

Plant based on your grow zone, but usually between September and November. Soil needs to be under 60 degrees.

Where to plant

Choose a location with full sun and well-draining soil. The more sun will lead to earlier and larger blooms.

Planting in ground

Plant the corms pointy side up about 3 to 4 inches apart. Crocus need to be planted around 3 inches deep.

Planting in containers

Crocus corms in containers can be planted 1 inch apart in well-draining soil. Leave the container outdoors during the winter, and after they bloom, you can move them indoors in a sunny window.
